The Dubai Mall project, approximately an eight million square foot shopping colossus, will nestle in the shadow of Burj Dubai, the worlds tallest tower.
The four storey development comprises a four million square foot mall (approx.) and retail amenities including a hypermarket, furniture mall, a 15-screen cinema, 36-lane bowling alley, ice-skating rink, fine foods market, The Gold Souk (the largest in the world) and at the centre of the mall the worlds largest aquarium with glass tunnels and viewing travellators.
The mall itself, equivalent to the size of more than 50 international-class soccer pitches, will be the largest shopping space in the world. The project is expected to complete in 2006. Meinhardt is providing Civil, Structural, Mechanical & Electrical Engineering Services.
